How to Maintain Your Body Shape

The most important form of nutritional disease in countries with a high standard of living is obesity. Life expectancy in healthy conditions is progressively reduced as the amount of excess weight, with respect to the ideal weight, increases.

Right weight and a slim body shape is essential in living a long, healthy life. Obesity is one of the many conditions resulting from the modern lifestyle, caused by the excess consumption of antinutrients, such as refined sugars, animal fats, and alcohol, combined with a lack of vital substances such as vitamins, and essential fatty acids.

The low-calorie type, with a good intake of fibre-rich carbohydrates and plenty of vital substances is the best diet to stay in shape over time. Regular physical exercise is also essential.

The body mass index (BMI) should be between 20 and 25.

Certain phytocomplexes and nutritional supplements can help maintain a healthy weight, in particular during seasonal changes, and when following a weight-loss diet.

The white kidney bean protein extract contains various amino acids (arginine in particular has a diuretic and antidiabetic action). The kidney bean is also rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, PP and C, iodine, and chromium. This last trace element promotes insulin action, improving sugar tolerance. The kidney bean is also rich in fibres, which help reduce the glycemic index of foods. The diuretic and hypoglycemic effect of the white kidney bean makes it a valuable remedy in the supplementary treatment of overweight and type 2 diabetes.

The Drumstick tree (Moringa oleifera Lam.) is a tree native to the southern slopes of the Himalayas, widely cultivated in many tropical regions of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Many beneficial properties are attributed to Moringa. In particular, the extracts obtained from the leaves and seeds are indicated for metabolic syndrome (type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity). Considered the ideal ‘super-food’ for human nutrition, it is capable of counteracting the negative health effects of modern-day food excesses.

The dried extract obtained from the peel of an Apple (Malus domestica Borkh), helps modulate the absorption of nutrients. Pectins in particular absorb any waste in the intestine, thus reducing the assimilation of sugars and cholesterol.

Cassia Nomame legume (Cassia mimosoides L.) in phytotherapy is considered one of the best natural remedies to control fat and overweight. The main mechanism of action is linked to the inhibition of pancreatic enzymes and consequent reduced absorption of sugars and fats in the intestine.
